Umami in Thai food
Earlier in the year we partnered up with Umami inspiration and Dr Johnny Drain to investigate the role umami plays in Thai cuisine.
From Chiang Mai in the North to Sakon Nakhon in the east all the way down to Trang in the south umami is a flavour that underpins the complexity and depth that is synonymous with Thai food. A wide range of ingredients are used across the country to achieve the foundations that umami gives to the food of Thailand.
